Next up: the heavy bleeding. This can be a real pain, both literally and figuratively. But there are ways to manage it. From pads, through tampons to menstrual cups - there's a range of menstrual products widely available that can help. And if you're really struggling with the flow, it might be worth talking to your doctor to see if there's a medical solution.
Periods can also take a toll on our emotions. Mood swings, depression and anxiety are all common during our menstrual cycle. But again, there's help out there. Talking to a therapist or counsellor can make a big difference. And remember, it's okay not to be okay ❤️
Lastly, the pure inconvenience of periods, which can be a real challenge. The need to plan ahead, make sure you have enough supplies and have access to a restroom can be stressful. But with a little preparation, it doesn't have to be.
I remember when my period struck unexpectedly after the birth of my firstborn. It was dramatic. We had just arrived at the hotel for a weekend getaway and to my horror all the bedding was white... We all know that we've little to no control over periods at night and hotels can charge for dirty bedding or damage caused to their beds... I was so stressed that I barely slept! Looking back, I wish I had packed my PeapodMat with me and all the stress would be taken away with this game-changing bed mat!
I definitely learned a lesson on that trip and ever since, I always pack PeapodMats when visiting family or travelling. It's great not just for periods but also for any sicknesses that might strike (as it happens at the least convenient time!) or to protect the beds in case the kids have any accidents at nighttime.
Don't worry - although periods can be a real pain, with a bit of preparation, self-care, and a willingness to ask for help, it doesn't have to be too bad. Remember, you're not alone in this! ❤️
